Isabella's Reviews

Zagat 2008: They have the formula down pat at this deservedly popular longtime Med New American, an UWS oasis for unrushed, delicious meals overseen by pleasant staffers; outdoor seating and prime people-watching make it hard to beat, especially at Sunday brunch.

New York Magazine: "Isabella's is about as see-and-be-seen as the relatively unpretentious Upper West Side gets. The airy bi-level space is perfect for people watching, as is the patio, where diners overlook the Museum of Natural History while picking at dishes from a Mediterranean-tinged menu. Filling homemade pastas, like the seasonal dessert-y pumpkin ravioli in brown butter sauce, and lighter fare..."

Black Book: "Deco touches complement polished Euro style. Preppies clog bi-level space. People-watching spot of the nabe, perfect finish to a day with the dinos. Let attentive staff point out American and Mediterranean menu perennials like camembert and pear salad and pumpkin ravioli. Don't look now, but there go Kyra and Kevin."

NYC.com: "Considered by many to be a culinary staple of the Upper West Side, Isabella's offers outstanding Mediterranean cuisine at exceptionally reasonable prices. Located near the Museum of Natural History, there's no better spot to absorb the sights, sounds and celebrities of Manhattan than Isabella's vibrant outdoor café. Coupled with its elegant and airy bi-level dining room, this congenial haven features tempting entrees."
